BEFORE & AFTER - ECLECTIC FARMHOUSE CLIENT

Anyone ready to see a dramatic BEFORE & AFTER?! This bedroom and bathroom remodel is a great example of how to mix old and new! Done for a sweet family of three in a rambling farmhouse that can only be characterized as ‘Eclectic’. Each room in the home has its own style and flair. How fun is that?! Full of personality, the owners wanted the space to feel like extensions of themselves. Since it was the master bedroom and bath, their main goal was to feel calm and relaxed. With lower ceilings, limited bedroom space, and natural lighting, we opted for impact-making details to elevate the space. Here are some before pictures to show how far the space has come!

We had talked about doing an accent wall in the bedroom because the owner loves bold colors. So when I suggested black, she went for it! The accent wall is painted with Sherwin Williams Black Magic in a matte finish (to cover old drywall imperfections), and the adjacent walls and trim are Sherwin Williams Pure White. The newly upholstered low-profile bed gives the illusion of more space (and was a great price). We added texture with the addition of the basket wall (Hobby Lobby finds) and vintage bed pillows.

The old ceiling fan used in the room before really dated the space, with lights that cast shadows all over the room. Since they still wanted a fan, we found this amazing black fan/light combo that suits the space perfectly! Antique brass sconces add another element of light, as do the sheer curtains. Can you tell we wanted to maximize the incredible natural light? This Loloi Loren Terra-cotta Sky Rug pulled all the colors together and added another layer of bold color to the design.

Removing all extra furniture and decor also helps open up the space and allows for a blank slate to start from. This console table was a Home Goods find that I literally carried around the store for an hour on my shoulder! Ha! The owner’s grandpa had collected all these amazing pottery jugs that we used on the console table and nightstands, which I thought was a great personal touch. You don’t want everything to feel brand new! The nightstands are from Target and turned out amazing for such a great price (under $150 each).

In the bathroom, we did the most we could on our budget. All the vanities and mirrors were handmade and stayed, as did the tile floors. We simply painted the walls SW Pure White (except for one blue accent wall), and added rugs and decor. It’s incredible how small touches like this can transform the space to a brighter, more updated look! My personal favorite was this wall hanging.

Now this sweet family can rest easy in their uncluttered, beautiful home! If you’re ready for a new look in your bedroom or bathroom, contact us to get started! For any of the links to these products, contact us.
